Case Study:
Product Design – “Smart Nugget™ Sticker”

Client: JQ & ML (Inventors of Smart Authors™, Patent No. 12292933)
Scope: Character Sticker Design, Product Visualization, Print-Ready Assets
Challenge:
As newly minted inventors of a patented AI-assisted writing tool, JQ & ML wanted a playful yet smart visual to represent their idea—a sticker featuring their signature “nugget” metaphor to give their invention personality and story.

Our Approach:
  • Explored sketch styles inspired by fast food icons, kids' dino nuggets, and kawaii tech culture
  • Created several vector-based nugget characters with subtle nerdy flair (glasses, sparkles, expression work)
  • Iterated on form: from classic McNugget shape to dino-chicken hybrids
  • Delivered high-res PNGs for both digital use and vinyl printing
  • Embedded initials “JQ & ML” and “Patented” subtly within the sticker border

Result:

“We love it—it’s cute, weird, and memorable.”
The sticker now features in presentations, merch giveaways, and investor pitch swag.

Case Study

Client: Internal Narrative Project
Scope: Visual storytelling, zine design, print series

Dumpling Diaries is a personal project from Dossier Haus exploring food as a site of memory, rebellion, and reconciliation. Part zine, part family archive, part print collection—this work documents the tactile tensions of being raised between sticks behind doors and dumplings folded with care.

Client: Internal Narrative Project (Dossier Haus Originals)
Scope: Story-based Print Design, Typography, Food Memory Visuals
Challenge:
How do you preserve memory that lives between generations, between recipes, between reprimands and love? Dumpling Diaries began as a personal archive—a way to trace family history through food, conflict, and ritual. The challenge was to transform scattered memories into a cohesive visual object that felt both poetic and tactile.

Our Approach:
  • Collected raw material: handwritten notes, photos, recipe scraps, and personal reflections
  • Developed a visual language inspired by Chinese newsprint, family calendars, and ink smudges
  • Designed a typographic rhythm that mirrored the cadence of memory: disjointed, looped, tender
  • Created a series of modular prints using excerpts of personal text, kitchen scenes, and still-life photos of turnip cakes, dumplings, and implements
  • Bound the final work as a zine and digital spread, titled Dumpling Diaries: Everything Jiaozi

Result:

“A quiet grief and a quiet joy in one place.”
The piece has resonated as a hybrid of personal memoir and design essay, shared among friends, family, and creatives. It now lives in both physical and digital form—available for future zine publishing.

Case Study: Attention is Shape

Client: M. – Founder, Productivity Platform
Scope: Visual Diagram Design, Concept Illustration, Presentation Asset

Challenge:

M., a startup founder building a platform to help users track focus and creative flow, wanted to communicate a hard-to-grasp concept: how attention works over time. Their internal deck was cluttered and linear—but they needed something poetic and shareable to pitch to VCs and early users.

Our Approach:

Dossier Haus transformed the abstract idea of “attention drift” into a visually intuitive diagram—a design that felt like part blueprint, part dream journal.
  • Conducted a concept session to unpack the founder’s cognitive model
  • Designed a circular attention map inspired by zen gardens, heatmaps, and orbiting thoughts
  • Used soft gradients and open white space to show movement, tension, and reprioritization
  • Paired diagram with a short poem to anchor the visual in metaphor
  • Delivered a suite of outputs: high-res PDF for pitch, IG-optimized crop, animated .mov loop for website background
